Consumer Proposal

A consumer proposal is an official procedure governed by the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, which is exclusively available to individuals whose total debts do not exceed $250,000 excluding debts secured by their principal residence.

Division 1 Proposal

A division 1 proposal is an official procedure governed by the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. Unlike the consumer proposal, division 1 proposals can be filed by businesses as well as individuals and there is also no limit to the level of debts.

Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy law describes an official procedure during which you will give all of your belongings, except those exempt by the law, to the trustee who will then use them or sell them to repay the creditors.

Agreement with Creditors

André Gabbay & Associates Inc. Bankruptcy Trustee can only help you with the official procedures towards your agreement with creditors if you do not want to try this option or if your creditors have not accepted your proposal.

Debt Consolidation

To perform a consolidation, you need to contact a financial institution, a Bank for example, which offers debt consolidations.

Voluntary Deposit Service

Voluntary deposit is an alternative offered by the Government of the Canada. For the voluntary deposit, you must go to the Office which deals with the voluntary deposit in your area where you will determine an amount you will pay monthly.
